Links to Web Sites

There are many resources on the web that include information about individualist and libertarian ideas. I have included a few that I think do a good job of conveying the fundamental elements of libertarian and egoist ideas. There are many others. I will add to the list as I learn about other quality sites.

Objectivism and Ayn Rand Studies

Ayn Rand Institute  The site for The Ayn Rand Institute, which purports to be the "official" one-stop shop for Objectivism.

Atlas Society  The site for the Atlas Society, which purports to be the most respected independent Objectivist organization. This site includes many interesting resources about Rand and Objectivism. It is also affiliated with the publication, The New Individualist.

Objectivism 101  This site offers an introduction to Objectivism as a practical philosophy for everyday life.

Objectivism Forum  This site is an online discussion about Objectivism.

Journal of Ayn Rand Studies  This is the site for the Journal of Ayn Rand Studies, an academic journal that critically explores all facets of Rand's thought.

Chris Sciabarra  This is the site for Chris Matthew Sciabarra. I have placed Chris' site in this category because of his outstanding scholarship on Rand. It is important, however, to note that his scholarship and perspective goes far beyond the study of Objectivism and Ayn Rand.

Atlas Shrugs  This is the website of Pamela Geller. It is consistently pro-liberty, pro-individualist, and pro-Israel. It is not really a theoretical site; instead, she applies the perspective of Objectivism to ongoing struggles. I check her site frequently because she reports on the struggle against Islamo-fascism in Europe and America, covering events that are ignored by the lame stream media.

Anarcho-Capitalism and the Austrian School of Economics

Mises Institute  This is the web site for the von Mises Institute at Auburn University. It is an outstanding clearinghouse for information about Austrian economics, von Mises, Rothbard and Libertarianism.  It is also the site for the Journal of Libertarian Studies.

Lew Rockwell This is a smaller but more politically engaged site for Austrian economics and market-oriented anarchism.

Libertarianism

Advocates for Self-Government This is the web site for the Advocates for Self-Government. It includes a considerable amount of introductory material for persons interested in a broad view of libertarianism.

The Libertarian Party. This is the web site for the National Libertarian Party, the people who recycled Bob Barr as a libertarian candidate for president. Pity.

Society for Individual Liberty. This site is the vehicle for the International Society for Individual Liberty. The ISIL sponsors an annual conference and it really is international in scope.

Cato Institute. The Cato Institute is an outstanding libertarian think tank, although much of its work appears aimed at making libertarianism palatable to mainstream culture and politics. The web site has many outstanding resources.

Individualist Anarchism

Wendy McElroy  Wendy McElroy is an individualist anarchist author and individualist feminist. She has written some very good books on a variety of important topics. Her site has a lot of information and analysis written from an individualist anarchist point of view.

Lysander Spooner.   Most of Spooner's writings are available on this site. It is a very good resource on Spooner.

Anarchist Archives  This site has some information about Tucker, Spooner and other individualist anarchists, but it is primarily a communist anarchist site.

The Liberty Site. This site includes each and every issue of Tucker's journal Liberty. This site is a goldmine for anyone interested in primary sources regarding Tucker and Liberty.

Egoism and Dialectical Egoism

i-Studies. This is the best resource for Stirner and Stirnerite materials on the web. It has some materials on other egoist writers, including Dora Marsden.

The Memory Hole.  The Memory Hole has resources on a variety of individualist and libertarian tendencies. It has a substantial number of resources on egoism.

Sidney Parker. This is a link to an interview with Sidney Parker about Max Stirner and Egoism. Parker is important because he edited several egoist journals and wrote many articles on Stirner and other egoists from the 1960s to the 1990s. Many of his writings are available at the i-Studies site.
